Time to plan your perfect day…

sweetheart invite

I wrote our latest blog a few months ago, which of course looked very different to where we find ourselves today. Little did I know just how much our lives would be about to change.

For many couples it has been a very difficult time, with weddings being forced to cancel, and our hearts go out to each of them.

What has been really inspiring to me, is the incredible gestures of solidarity for our wonderful NHS, which we are blessed to have, and seeing small businesses supporting each other through this time.

So yes, we do find ourselves in an unprecedented time, but the show must and will go on, and we intend on continuing to bring positive content throughout.

So without further ado, here’s our take on planning your perfect wedding day for all you wonderful couples out there…

Planning your big day is one of the most exciting things you’ll do, but we also know it can also be pretty full on!

So we’ve rounded up some interesting insights from the Hitched and You and Your Wedding survey to help you get organised, read on and see how your wedding might compare…

The average wedding in the UK now costs £32,000, with the most expensive item on the list being the wedding venue, followed by the Honeymoon, which we whole heartedly agree should be something you spend more on!

Other top costs were food and drink, and of course, the wedding rings.

And how is it all being paid for? Most couples will use their personal savings to pay for their big day, but 1 in 5 are putting it on their credit card and 1 in 10 will take out a loan.

The average number of guests attending a wedding is 82 for the day, and 103 to the evening. And when it comes to inviting your guests, your invite is your most important tool – it sets the tone for your big day and gives your friends and family the first glimpse of your wedding day style.

Illustrated wedding invites are set to be a top trend for this year, but if your budget won’t stretch to that then check out our collections, which can be fully customisable with different colours and foiling options.

As for the venue, barns and farms are the most popular for British couples, with 28% opting to tie the knot in the fields.

If this is also your dream wedding style then make sure you check out our Dreamcatcher collection – a perfect choice for festival style-weddings!

Coming a close second for venues is country houses and manors, which are perfect for those who want a more elegant affair, but still love the great outdoors.

A whopping 42% of couples admit they feel the pressure to make sure their wedding is insta-worthy, and will spend more of their budget on making this happen with creative floral arrangements and epic table decorations.

But there’s lots of great ways you can use your on the day stationery to create photo-worthy opportunities for the ‘gram and Pinterest. Check out our top ideas on The English Wedding.

And despite the rise of dating apps it turns out that most couples meet in real life, 68% actually, and this is a statistic that we absolutely love.
