The National Wedding Show

The National Wedding Show is a great one stop shop for future brides & grooms to get inspiration and organise their big day. In October this year, we headed over to the Manchester exhibition and set up our stand where we were able to chat to lots of lovely couples, families and friends and showcased our new collections. The Wedding Show fell in line with the launch of our brand new website and new designs which means it was a very busy but exciting time for us.

It was great to meet so many of you and hopefully we were able to help answer some of the many questions surrounding your wedding stationery. Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it this time though, we are exhibiting again on 10-11 March 2018 at Event City, Manchester. The other lovely part about the Wedding Show is meeting other suppliers and companies and appreciating the hard work each one puts into their brand. Below we have rounded up a few of our favourite stands of the day…

Love Lights The Way

Love Lights the Way are specialists in providing beautifully crafted light up letters adding that special, unique touch to your special day. We loved all the letters on display on their stand – especially the LOVE sign! What a great backdrop idea for your wedding photos.

Each cake is made by hand and is perfectly finished which is why we can’t rave about them enough (and they taste great too!) Our favourite of the day has to be the Navy tiered cake with striking flower detail!

As Love Invited celebrates it’s fifth anniversary, my gorgeous hubby Dave and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary this June.

It was such a wonderful day, that even 10 years on it is still fresh in our minds. It was full of fun, laughter, friends and family and we loved every minute. So when the opportunity to establish Love Invited came up, I had to grab it with both hands and now I get to do weddingy stuff every day!

Back on 2007 there certainly wasn’t as much choice or inspiration out there, which was probably a good thing! I often think there is so much out there that it is overwhelming. I am in the mind of keeping it simple and going with what you want, rather than what you think you should have.

Here are a few pics from our day along with our own wedding stationery. There wasn’t as much need to have a theme 10 years ago but looking back ours definitely had a floral country theme as we got married in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside.  The colour scheme of ivory and tones of pink was only settled on when we went bridesmaid dress shopping !

Anyway take a look and see how we did it back in 2007!

After attending the National Wedding Show at Event City back in March, where we met some very lovely people, we have created some inspiring wedding stationery designs that we wanted to share with you. Some are adaptations of existing designs and others were bespoke commissions. We hope to have something for everyone whatever your design style or budget.

Rememberer all your on the day stationery items can be designed to complement your invitations. So everything from your order of service, place cards, table names and table plan can all be created to match. Then after your big day don’t forget to say a massive thank you to all your lovely guests by sending a Love Invited thank you card. These are also available in matching designs and can include a photo from your day.

We’ve  been really looking forward to sharing this exciting new bespoke design with you.

Here’s the story…

We first met Tamara and Mike at the National Wedding Show in Manchester in February 2016. Their brief was to create a school book style invitation as they were getting married at The Great John Street Hotel, which was a former school house. Tamara was great as she knew exactly what style she was looking for and I couldn’t wait to get started. To get the ball rolling we created a neat A7 sized save the date, incorporating old school style doodles along the lines of  ‘Mr & Mrs Forever’ on a chalkboard background. A magnet was attached to the reverse of the save the date so guests could pop it on their fridge, just to keep the important date well and truly in mind.

A few months after the save the dates were designed, printed and posted out it was time to make a start on the wedding invitation. This took the form of a booklet that imitated the look of a school exercise book. The design incorporated the doodles from the save the date, to ensure the theme was carried though and the pages were made up of lined and graph paper. The invitation even included original school photos of the couple, which was a lovely personal touch.

At the back of each invitation there was a pocket which held a library card style Rsvp and return envelope and also ‘a note to the bride a groom’ tag. Guests were asked to fill in the tag and post it back with the Rsvp so they could be used to decorate the venue. We thought this was a great idea.

Following the invitation we also produced Tamara and Mikes on the day stationery. This included a table plan, order of the day, table menu and order of service, all of which followed the school theme.

Hope you like it!

Dusky Pinks, Sage Greens and White Wedding Inspiration

Inspired by the early blooms and blossom trees of Spring with a glimpse of sunshine and Summer in the distance. These light shades can give a delicately fresh feel to your wedding. I hope this selection of photos will inspire you. Soft tones of pink, including rose quartz, which is a Pantone colour of the year are paired with subtle shades of sage green and lots of crisps whites.

Hello Spring Invitation Inspiration

Get the look…

Wedding Stationery: Choose our sweet watercolour collection with romantic detailing in soft shades of pink. Use the same details to tie your wedding invitations, order of service, menus, table plan and thank you cards to create a look to compliment your whole day.

Flowers: An abundance of blooms in soft and delicate shades will mark the arrival of Spring. Peonies, anemones, blush pink carnations and roses in white, cream and pink are perfect paired with the soft greens of eucalyptus for contrast. On-trend and providing huge impact, hanging flowers are a great choice for your Spring wedding.

Style: Beautiful soft flowing gowns for your bridesmaids in either shades of pink or sage and for the bride, a tulle gown with simple detailing. Finally for the groom, a light suit paired with a pink or sage bow-tie. Add some rose-gold toned jewellery for a finishing touch.

Cake: A simple, lightly coloured, soft-iced cake topped with with fresh flowers is just the perfect finishing touch for this Spring wedding look.

We recently completed a wedding invitation order for the lovely Hayley and Darren who get married later this year.

I met Hayley at the Autumn National Wedding Show in Manchester in October last year. As their reception venue is a rustic style barn in Cumbria they wanted their invitations to complement this, so they chose from our Vintage Floral collection, however, Hayley asked if they could have their invitations as a set of three tag style cards tied with raffia twine rather than what was available on the website. This was no problem at all and we adapted the design to suit them. Their colour palette was berry tones with a touch of navy blue which suited the floral design perfectly.

The invitations are now all done and dusted and have been sent out to Hayley and Daren’s guests.

I received a lovely message from Hayley when she received their invitations to say:

“Just to let you know that the parcel arrived today.
Thank you so much we both love them, they are just so pretty!”

We hope you like them as much as we do.

At Love Invited we recently had the pleasure of working on an Italian rustic themed wedding invitation for Zach and Gabbie.

Their brief was to create a rustic but classic wedding invitation which included a bespoke wax seal, made just for them.

Their wedding invitation was printed on a luxurious textured card and was wrapped in trace, tied with hemp twine and sealed with their very own bespoke bronze wax seal. We had great fun creating these wedding invitation sets that comprised of the wedding invitation, additional information, menu, map of Italy and complementary ice cream voucher.

We wish them all the best for their wedding day and future together.

Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a great holiday.

To get things started for 2016 we thought we would give you our top 5 tips of things to consider when you are planning and arranging your wedding stationery. We hope they help.

Set a style

Your invitation gives your guests the first exciting glance in to the the theme of your wedding day and the style you are setting. It not only gives them the essential details of your day, such as date, time etc but it sets the tone of the day, whether it is classic and elegant or relaxed and modern.

There are so many styles of stationery you can go for. We suggest gathering lots of inspiration together so you can give a clear idea of what you are looking for when it comes to your wedding stationery.

Check, check and check again

Before your wedding stationery order is printed you will receive a proof on email. This is your chance to check all the details are correct. What ever you do don’t just check it yourself, ask someone else to check through the details before you give the go ahead to print. Check the obvious things like your names, date, time and spellings. You will be surprised what you can miss! Take a tip from professional proof readers by reading every word from right to left so you don’t gloss over any potential mistakes.

Guest personalisation

Save yourself time and effort by asking your stationer to personalise each invitation with your guest’s names. All you will need to do is supply a list or spreadsheet of the names as you would like them printing and they will do the rest. You could even ask if you could have your envelopes printing. By doing this each invitation looks highly finished and it frees up your time to do some more planning.

How many to order?

Before you confirm the number of wedding invitations you need take a look at how many couples or families you are inviting. There is no need to send an invitation to every guest, just send one to each household. It is always advisable to order a few extra though just in case you have any last minute changes.

Don’t forget your ‘on the day’ stationery

Ordering your day stationery items such as order of the day, menus, place cards and table plan in the same design as your wedding invitations will ensure your theme is carried through the whole of your wedding day. Don’t forget the thank you cards too! This is a lovely way to remind your guests of your wonderful day and to thank them for being such an important part of it.
