Is your big day nearly here? Then it’s time to order your wedding stationery.

We get asked a lot about when’s the best time to send your save the dates and invitations and when you should get started on your on your ‘on the day’ stationery items. Well here’s our definitive but short guide, we hope it helps.

Save the Dates
Save the dates are a great idea if you have your venue booked but it’s a bit early to send your invitations. If you are planning on sending a save the date, these should go out around a year before your wedding day. But if you have your date set before then, send them out as soon as you can.

Invitations
We suggest sending your invitations out around 4-6 months before your wedding day. That way it gives your guests time to reply and you time to plan. If you have sent a save the date and you have a good idea of numbers then you could always send your invitations a bit later, but we would suggest no later than three months before your wedding day if possible.

On-the-day stationery
Now this covers everything from your order of service to place cardstable namesmenustable plan and anything else you can think of. To put your ‘on the day’ items together we usually require around 2-3 weeks at the very most, but to make sure it isn’t all a big rush why not make a start around the date you set for your Rsvps. Remember if you haven’t quite finalised your guest list for your place cards and table plan we would be happy to put a draft of the design together for you to see and your guests names can be dropped in just before they are printed.

Thank you cards
It is so important to send your guests a thank you card after your big day. We would say send these no later than 2-3 months after your wedding day. You’re guests won’t expect a thank you straight away but it is always good not to leave it too long. At Love Invited we can design your thank you cards with or without a photograph, so just let us know which you prefer. In our opinion a photo is always the best though, as it reminds everyone what an amazing day it was.

We hope our little guide has helped. All that is left to do now is choose your design!
